According to the memorandum, both parties will fully leverage their respective strengths in weight and metabolic management and liver disease detection. Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University will become a clinical demonstration site for Liverscan® and FattaLab®, promoting the application of both products in weight management and metabolic outpatient settings. At the same time, the two parties will strengthen research collaboration, jointly explore clinical cohort research directions for FattaLab®, and accelerate the enhancement and translation of clinical research innovation capabilities. In addition, they will deepen KOL engagement and invite experts from Zhongnan Hospital to join Eieling’s Clinical Advisory Board.
Zhongnan Hospital: A Pioneer in Integrated Medical-Exercise Care in Hubei
Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University is among the first medical institutions in Hubei Province to establish a weight management center, with over a decade of experience in this field. The hospital pioneered weight loss and metabolic surgery in 2013, established an obesity diagnosis and treatment center in 2017, and upgraded it to a Weight Management Center in October 2024, building a three-tier prevention system of “screening – intervention – management.”
In the area of integrated medical-exercise care, Zhongnan Hospital has actively responded to the national “Weight Management Year” three-year action plan, breaking away from the traditional disease-treatment-centered model. It has formed a strategic partnership with Hubei Sports Industry Group and officially launched an integrated medical-exercise weight management innovation project. By integrating top multidisciplinary resources and putting patients at the center, the center embeds precise medical assessment into scientific exercise, adopting a combined specialty clinic and multidisciplinary clinic model to provide patients with a full closed-loop management process covering monitoring, assessment, intervention, and follow-up.
Since the establishment of the Weight Management Center, the center has received a large number of patients. More and more people have come to recognize the dangers of obesity and the importance of metabolic health, allowing the team to accumulate rich clinical experience in weight management combined with metabolic disease intervention. This collaboration with Eieling Technology is the latest practice in Zhongnan Hospital’s efforts to advance integrated medical-exercise care, leveraging the hospital’s mature weight management service system to further explore new pathways in liver health management.
When “Weight Management” Meets “Liver Health”
Currently, obesity has become a major public health issue in China, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is one of the most common liver complications of obesity. Traditional liver disease screening relies on liver biopsy or large ultrasound equipment, which is invasive, expensive, and difficult to promote at the primary care level, causing many early-stage patients to miss the optimal intervention window.

Eieling Technology focuses on building portable and intelligent liver health monitoring solutions, continuously investing resources in technological iteration and clinical validation. Its independently developed Liverscan® quantitative shear wave ultrasound liver measurement device and FattaLab® lightweight intelligent fatty liver assessment system fully cover the entire process from initial screening to professional assessment of liver health. This collaboration means that during the full weight management intervention process, individuals can conveniently and quickly complete quantitative detection of liver steatosis and liver stiffness, keeping timely track of their liver health status. Clinicians can also more intuitively track the improvement effects of weight reduction on liver health, making the formulation and adjustment of weight management plans more scientifically grounded and enhancing overall intervention outcomes.
Collaboration Direction: Integrating Liver Health Assessment into the Full Weight Management Process
This collaboration stems from the recognition of the critical value of liver health assessment in weight management. In the future, both parties will integrate convenient and precise quantitative detection of liver steatosis and liver stiffness into the full weight management process, enabling individuals to more easily detect early liver damage, adjust intervention plans in a timely manner, and protect liver health while achieving scientific weight reduction. Both parties will also continue to deepen clinical research collaboration, explore the effects of exercise intervention and metabolic management on improving liver health, and provide more precise assessment evidence for early screening and full-cycle health management of fatty liver disease.
