Academic Exchange | Advancing the Frontiers of MASLD: Eieling Technology Invited to Deliver Keynote Presentation at THASL 2026 and Successfully Hosts Specialized Symposium

On June 11–12, 2026, the Annual Meeting of the Thai Association for the Study of the Liver (THASL 2026), hosted by the Thai Association for the Study of the Liver, was held in Bangkok, Thailand. The Eieling Technology team was invited to attend and deliver a keynote presentation, and concurrently hosted a specialized academic symposium titled “The Future of AI-Enabled Point-of-Care Liver Assessment in the MASLD Era.” Both events brought together numerous leading experts in hepatology, metabolic medicine, and health management from Thailand to explore cutting-edge trends and clinical practices in liver disease assessment in the MASLD era.

The conference attracted over 200 hepatology experts, physicians, and scholars, who engaged in in-depth discussions on the disease burden of MASLD (Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease), non-invasive diagnostics, pharmacotherapy, and other frontier topics. The aim was to enhance clinicians’ and healthcare providers’ understanding of liver diseases, advance hepatology research, and more effectively empower clinical treatment and screening services.

Prof. Teerha, former President of THASL (2011–2012), senior hepatology expert, and Professor of Medicine, delivered a keynote address at the THASL 2026 conference. Moderated by Prof. Teerha, Prof. Seto Wai-Kay from the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, and Chief of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Queen Mary Hospital, presented a keynote report titled “Transforming Liver Care in Thailand: Point-of-Care Solutions for the MASLD-HBV Dual Burden.” Drawing on global and Asia-Pacific epidemiological data, he systematically elaborated on the clinical challenges posed by the dual burden of MASLD and HBV (hepatitis B), noting that traditional liver biopsy and large elastography devices, due to low throughput, high costs, and limited accessibility, are insufficient to meet Thailand’s population-wide screening needs.

Prof. Seto highlighted the liver fibrosis and steatosis assessment device Liverscan® — developed by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and commercialized by Eieling Technology — as well as FattaLab® for fat quantification. The clinical value of Liverscan® has been validated in leading international journals. Key clinical data published in Liver International demonstrated that compared to biopsy, Liverscan® achieved an AUROC of 0.97 for cirrhosis (F4) and 0.92 for steatosis (≥S1), with just 4 measurements achieving performance non-inferior to 10 measurements.

Liverscan® and FattaLab® together form a complete POCT solution from fat quantification to fibrosis assessment, providing a high-throughput, low-cost, and scalable new paradigm for comprehensive MASLD management in the GLP-1 era.

The Future of AI-Enabled Point-of-Care Liver Assessment

At the specialized academic symposium hosted by Eieling Technology, titled “The Future of AI-Enabled Point-of-Care Liver Assessment,” numerous leading experts and seasoned practitioners in hepatology, metabolic medicine, and related fields from Thailand gathered for dedicated panel discussions.

Dr. Huang Zihao, Chief Researcher at Eieling Technology, presented a case study on the Liverscan® program, demonstrating its high diagnostic accuracy across multiple scenarios. Subsequently, Prof. Seto and other experts engaged in in-depth discussions on the clinical intersection of GLP-1 and fatty liver disease.

During the live demonstration session, Liverscan® impressed attendees with its high detection efficiency, ease of operation, and real-time results. Experts and scholars spoke highly of the device, noting that Liverscan®’s portability and high accuracy hold strong clinical appeal and are well-positioned to address the urgent needs of current liver disease screening.

This academic exchange served as a platform for cross-border academic dialogue and clinical experience sharing. It not only deepened the mainstream Thai medical community’s understanding of the value of AI-POC-TE technology in comprehensive MASLD management, but also laid an important foundation for the localized adoption of Liverscan® and FattaLab® in metabolic medicine and health management settings. Eieling Technology will seize this opportunity to continually upgrade its liver health solutions, helping Thailand effectively address the MASLD challenge and usher in a new phase of intelligent liver monitoring.
