Exclusive interview with Hong Kong Ming Pao News Network
Interview with Dr. Lin Yangmin, Clinical Research Director of Eieling Technology
On June 5, Hong Kong Ming Pao News Network published a special report titled “Start-up Research Handheld Scanner Hopes to Popularize Liver Fibrosis Testing”. The article reported the original intention and development background of Eieling Technology. The liver ultrasound Liverscan® can non-invasively and quantitatively detect liver stiffness, warn the risk of liver cirrhosis and assess the degree of fatty liver. However, the existing liver fibrosis scanning instruments on the market are expensive, and the local testing fee in Hong Kong is as high as 1,200 yuan, which hinders the popularization of liver disease screening. In addition, the existing instruments have high space requirements for operation, and the probes are inconvenient to carry, which cannot achieve the important measure of promoting the equalization of basic medical services. Therefore, Professor Zheng Yongping and CTO Wang Like thought of developing a wireless device that is easy to carry and easy to operate. Without switching probes back and forth, the operator can use a probe to achieve the two functions of “B-type ultrasound imaging” + “elastic imaging”, and in addition to liver specialists, other people and institutions can perform independent testing. The Liverscan® series of products can meet the diverse needs of scenarios ranging from inpatient departments, outpatient clinics, physical examination institutions to nursing homes, community centers, pharmacies, and medical schools.
